A Student Again
Behind the scenes this month I’m planning to try out Campfire writing software. I’ve never used writing software before so it will be interesting to see how it works out.
This week I’m also offering myself a reward to rise early. If I get up at 6, I can do qigong, some writing, a walk and start on my chores. I always love when I have an early start. After seeing a tip in a book that recommended giving yourself a sum of money if you change your habits, I have decided to do just that. This morning I was up at 6 and I feel great about that. There is something so magical about being up at sunrise and sitting in the conservatory with the first rays of sun shining in through the windows. Cup of coffee in hand of course.
I’m now on the 6 the draft of my novel and it’s a hard slog, not getting any easier. I feel a bit discouraged at this point. Organisation and planning of the book are difficult for me, due to to a condition I have. This is where my editing skills come in. Having completed a number of editing courses, I’m now in a position to edit and organise my novel. I haven’t started yet but I plan to, soon.
Other news this month is I’ve been offered a provisional place on a life coaching course at UCC. So after 25 years I may be returning to UCC. I didn’t really appreciate UCC first time around but this time I’ll relish it. I remember the first time I was in UCC. I was only 14 and I visited my sister there after I had finished school for the day. We traipsed up to the Old Bar, a rundown old pub on the first floor of a decrepit building on campus. My older sister, clad in her hippie outfit, asked if I had 30pence to spare for a cup of coffee as she was broke. I loved walking around campus and seeing my sister in her alma mater. She studied science and was a typical student whereas when I attended the college in later years, I was shy and didn’t settle in until my final year.
So I will be a student again after 25 years.
