Short Story Festival

Posted on October 30, 2023October 30, 2023 by helen

I recently attended a reading at a short story festival in Cork. It was a showcase of writing from a new literary journal in the city library. Four authors read their work.

One woman, I can’t remember her name, read a story she’d written about an old man, walking to the bog, carrying a mysterious package. Another person read a short story, set in Connemara, with fantastic descriptions of nature, especially hares. Both writers were highly skilled, especially at conveying setting.

A college student started chatting to me there. I was pleased when she said she’d buy my Amazon ebook. It’s nice when somebody takes an interest.
